Nelson’s Hardware was a flourishing Bedford Street business until its sale in 1978. In 1947, Don, Ruth, and two-year-old Mona moved from Altoona to Claysburg and opened Nelson’s Hardware. Mona Nelson Eckley is the daughter of Don and Ruth Nelson.
